Design, program, and implement data entry systems for health-care questionaires, insurance vouchers, Medicaid documents. Output mediums included: 9-track reel-to-reel tapes, cartridge tapes, and electronic transferal in National Standard Format (NSF) using the COMMLINK software. Design and implementation involved interaction with the customer organization's systems and operations departments to obtain job specifications and ensure accuracy of final product.
Design, program, and implement incentive payroll system for 40 key-punch operators, producing gross pay register, individual posting sheets, weekly and quarterly production reports.
Support opening of new data-entry shops in Clarksville VA and Grundy VA, porting software to new system and solving hardware and software problems.

Work involved duties in addition to programming and analysis: hardware support, user support, training of new programmers in the LifE-Works language, instructing and overseeing the programming performed by other programmers.
Design, program, and implement method for Y2K conversion of COBOL, LifE-Works, Unix shell programs (awk/sed).
Design, program, and implement inventory system for beams dyed and modifications to existing systems to handle the acquisition of new machines and new production plants.
All data entry programs involved were written in the LifE-Works language. Any processing or reformatting programs were written in the COBOL language. Job control instructions were written in either a subset of JCL or UNIX shell commands. In many of the systems, the mini-computer on which I worked transferred data files to the company's mainframe or routed reports through the mainframe to printers in other locations. In these cases, EZTREV(+) along with other CICS instructions were used.
Program and implement an update and conversion of older mainframe COBOL-written gross payroll system to newer COBOL standards system.
Analyze, program, and implement conversion of BASIC programs to LifE-Works programs performing various production control processes in Cloth Finishing Plant.
Design, program, and implement incentive payroll, inventory and lot tracking systems at vaious processes in the weaving operation: warping, dyeing, slashing, drawing, weaving(warp and cloth), inspecting, stitching, shearing, and shipping.
Design, program, and implement production scheduling system to enter customer orders, calculate customer promises, and produce bill of materials.
Design, program, and implement production control system predicting timing of materials needs at specific processes.
